The Metropolitan: A Magazine of Writing by Students at Metropolitan Community College

The Metropolitan
publishes all types of academic and literary writing, including descriptive, narrative, expository, and persuasive works, as well as creative prose and poetry.  We encourage writings from across the disciplines and also welcome visual art. Our goal is to showcase the best of the many voices, styles, and subjects Metro writers and readers find meaningful and to support critical thinking, creativity, and expression at Metropolitan Community College.

MCC instructors, our editors will be happy to provide handouts and copies of the mag, and to speak briefly to your classes about the benefits of submitting work for publication. Please mail metropolitan@mccneb.edu or call 738-4683 to make arrangements.

Students, check out our submission guidelines page, and don't hesitate to  contact us or a Writing Center consultant for help with your submissions. Keep in mind that though we seek high quality writing of all types, you do not need to be a professional writer to place your work here.
