This collection of thumbnails consists of a selection of fruits from the Cucumis
family.
There are three broad groups of melons defined by color and form. Some have netting
with a pattern on the skin, some are smooth skinned. Some have a bumpy or warty exterior.
Melons are eaten in their natural state, either as an appetizer, breakfast fruit, or as
a refreshing dessert.
Melons are best eaten in the late summer months. |
