Native to the Andes, now grown in California

 

Peak Season:

Available November through April.

 
Cherimoyas are also called "Custard Apples" 
Handling Tips and General Information:

Cherimoyas are heart shaped green skinned fruit, 4 to 6 inches in length, with a cream custard interior flesh and dark brown to black seeds. The flesh is somewhat custard like hence the nickname "Custard Apple". The flesh has a flavor described as a cross between a pineapple and a banana.
