101 Inroduction to Philosophy Group Writing Projects Suggested Topics |
Since the requirement
for forming a group is that all
members have to agree on the same topic, it's a good idea
to be familiar with the list of topics and to think about which
topic interests you. It doesn't have to be a topic you already
know; you may decide to choose a topic
you don't know in order to explore it. You'll have a week or so
to jostle around and switch groups, but after that, you'll have
to make a decision about which group you'll stay with for the
rest of the quarter. Here are the suggested topics. Click on any topic below and
you'll get a page which elaborates that topic; corresponding text
sections and page numbers for each topic will also be
given.
1. Theories of truth: objective versus relative truth.
2. Ethics: ethical
absolutism versus ethical relativism.
3. Language
and postcolonial identity.
4. Religion
and metaphysics.
