Exam
Directions: Write a short essay ( about a page or a page and a half) for each of the topics below. Use our class discussions and your class notes as a framework. Use your own words as much as possible. If you quote from the text or give a definition, be sure to explain what the quotation or definition means. If you aren't sure whether to include something or not, the rule of thumb is that it's probably best to include it.
1. (a) Explain the argument against the existence of God on the basis of the existence of evil and (b) explain why you agree or disagree with the argument. Be sure to give reasons for your agreement or disagreement.
2. (a) Explain briefly the three broad types of ethical universalism (absolutism) and the differences between them, and (b) explain which of the three types of ethical theories best fits your own ethical views (use the model of core-and- periphery morality we discussed in class).
All exams must be turned in by May 21. No exams will be accepted after this date.
