Community

                                  Pieter Bruegel

T
his heading of "community" will overlap to some extent with others such as "individual" and "virtues/values." The distinguishing feature of this heading is that it emphasizes the following questions:
  • what is a learning community as a whole?
  • what is the purpose of the community as a whole?
  • What is the purpose(s) of education in relation
to society (for example, social mobility,
    democratic equality, social efficiency)?
